The Wizards of Drivel is an independent weekly podcast looking at all things Stoke City. Founded in May 2016, the podcast has gone from strength to strength, reaching Stokies from all around the globe.

The core presenting panel is David Cowlishaw, Ben Cartwright and Chris Brammer but there are other regular contributors, as well as special one-off guests – Stokie and non-Stokie alike!

From scratchy, hastily recorded first episodes, we’ve grown every episode, and we now boast over 100 shows, have featured on other podcasts and radio shows, run a fairly decent blog if we say so ourselves and have interviewed the likes of; Pottermouth, Danny Higginbotham, Leon Cort, Liam Lawrence, Ricardo Fuller, Gordon Banks, Denis Smith and Terry Conroy. Our shows aren’t just limited to talking about the latest goings on at Stoke, we’ve done a documentary on Frank Soo, a look at football & politics with John Leonard, and some World Cup nonsense.

The podcast is something we love doing. We try not to take it too seriously – we’re not in it for huge listening figures, advertising money or to be controversial, we’re just Stokies talking about the club we love. We hope you enjoy it too. We’re not ‘the voice’ of Stoke fans, our opinions are ours and ours alone. That said, we welcome debate and if you feel like your view isn’t being represented email us and we’ll give your thoughts a fair hearing.

We’re available to listen to for free on iTunes, Soundcloud, Acast and Stitcher. Get in touch with us by social media and email and we promise to get back to you.

“Essential listening for those of a red and white persuasion” – DUCK Magazine

“We never thought we would ever be saying these words but the Wizards of Drivel is definitely our number one Stoke City podcast. Having listened to a lot of football podcasts between us, it’s safe to say that the guys at WoD have created a professional quality podcast which they’ve matched with really insightful punditry and a love for the Potters. In a world that is become filled with the chaff of mediatised content production, the guys at WoD should be proud of what they have achieved.” – Jon Mackenzie, The Team of John O’Shea’s Project

“The Wizards of Drivel are knowledgeable and opinionated and their shows are laced with self-deprication. The perfect ingredients for a fan-run podcast.” – Holmesdale Radio

Ben Cartwright may have a posh southern accent, but he’s definitely a Stoke fan and proves it by wearing that horrid mid-90s ‘STOKE’ away kit as often as possible. Ben’s experience with Five Live and TALKSport adds some semi-professionalism to the Drivel line up. @bajcartwright

David Cowlishaw is the founder of the podcast, the product of being really bored in April 2016. A pun merchant, David also writes about football on a freelance basis and has appeared on The Set Pieces website as well as in When Saturday Comes. @davidcowlishaw

Chris Brammer has been Wizarding from the start, and his talents include creating the Wizards of Drivel logo as well as designing this website and other Stoke-related goodness. Suffering from an acute Football Manager addiction, Chris blogs about FM (@VRFussball) and is the reigning World Cup of Stoke Fans Champion. @Brammered

Other semi-regular podders include Jason Martin, Tom Thrower, Ben Rowley and Zach from America.
